Welcome to the Sensing, Control and Communication Research Group web page!

We're a multidisciplinary group of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering researchers developing innovative solutions to a variety of engineering problems. Research projects cover robotics, mechatronics, intelligent structures and geosystems, energy and power, materials processing, telecommunications, bio-engineering, mining and construction. Participating graduate students come from a variety of backgrounds, and may specialize in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering systems. However, all students will experience crosscutting systems level courses in engineering measurements, and interdisciplinary modeling and simulation. Additional courses highlight recent advances in control systems, image and signal processing, communication theory, computer vision, sensor networks, health monitoring, and structural control. Our program produces highly sought-after M.S. and Ph.D. graduates who can tackle complex and interdisciplinary research, development and design problems in industrial and academic settings.

Please explore the wealth of projects underway, peruse the faculty and current graduate student pages, and check out the funding opportunities for graduate studies in Sensing, Communication and Control at the Colorado School of Mines.
